Directions

• Place one wafer on the tongue and allow it to dissolve; no water needed

• Take as soon as migraine symptoms appear

• If symptoms return, a second dose may be taken after 2 hours

• Maximum dose: 30mg in 24 hours

• Store below 30°C

• Keep in original packaging

• Keep out of reach of children

Serious (rare) side effects:

• Chest pain

• Shortness of breath

• Heart palpitations

• Signs of stroke

Stop the medicine and seek medical attention if serious side effects occur.

Warnings

Do not take Maxalt Melt if you have heart disease, stroke history, uncontrolled blood pressure, or severe liver disease. Avoid use during pregnancy unless directed by a doctor. Do not combine with other migraine treatments like ergotamine or other triptans.

How It Works

Rizatriptan works by stimulating serotonin receptors, causing the blood vessels to narrow and decreasing the inflammatory response. This relieves the headache, nausea, light sensitivity, and sound sensitivity commonly associated with migraines.
