Directions

• Adults:

  • 250mg to 500mg twice daily, depending on the condition

  • Maximum daily dose: 1000mg, unless advised otherwise

• How to take:

  • Swallow whole with a glass of water

  • Take with food or milk to protect the stomach

Storage:

• Store below 25°C

• Keep out of reach of children

• Do not use after expiry date

Warnings

• Not suitable for:

  • People with active or past stomach ulcers

  • Individuals with severe liver, kidney, or heart disease

  • Pregnant women in the third trimester

• Caution in:

  • Asthma sufferers

  • Elderly patients

  • Those taking blood thinners (e.g. warfarin)

Naprosyn, containing Naproxen as the active ingredient, is a widely prescribed non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat pain, inflammation, and stiffness associated with a variety of musculoskeletal and joint conditions. This includes osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute gout. It is also effective for managing muscle strains, tendonitis, and period pain (dysmenorrhoea).

Naprosyn is available in 250mg and 500mg strength tablets and is taken orally. It is particularly valued for its long duration of action, requiring only twice daily dosing, making it convenient for patients managing chronic pain.

How It Works

Naproxen inhibits the activity of cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), which are responsible for producing prostaglandins. These are chemical messengers involved in inflammation, pain signalling, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin production, Naprosyn helps decrease swelling, stiffness, and pain.
