Directions

• Please refer to the medication’s patient information leaflet before starting any new medication.

  • Swallow one capsule whole with water, do not crush or chew

  • Take at the same time daily, ideally in the morning

  • Can be taken with or without food

  • Complete the full course as prescribed

  • Store below 25°C

  • Keep in original packaging

  • Keep out of reach of children

Ingredients

Active Ingredient:

• Esomeprazole magnesium 20 mg or 40 mg

Other Ingredients:

• Sucrose

• Hypromellose

• Gelatin

• Magnesium stearate

• Macrogol

• Titanium dioxide

Side Effects

Common side effects may include:

• Headache

• Stomach pain

• Nausea or diarrhoea

• Flatulence

Serious (rare) side effects:

• Liver problems

• Low magnesium levels

• Allergic reaction

• Bone fracture (long-term use)

Stop the medicine and seek medical attention if serious side effects occur.

Warnings

Do not take Emozul if allergic to esomeprazole, omeprazole, or other PPIs. Use with caution in people with liver disease, osteoporosis, or when taking anticoagulants or digoxin. Prolonged use requires regular monitoring. Consult your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding.

Emozul Capsules are used for the treatment of acid-related conditions such as acid reflux, heartburn, and ulcers. These capsules contain esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that effectively reduces the production of stomach acid. Emozul is suitable for adults and adolescents over the age of 12 and is often prescribed for both short-term relief and long-term management.

Esomeprazole works by targeting the proton pumps in the stomach lining, the final step in the acid production process. By blocking these pumps, Emozul reduces the amount of acid secreted into the stomach. Always inform your doctor of any other medications being taken, as PPIs can interact with drugs such as clopidogrel, warfarin, and digoxin.
