Ingredients

Active Ingredient:

• Estradiol valerate 1mg or 2mg

Other Ingredients:

• Lactose monohydrate

• Maize starch

• Hypromellose

• Talc

• Magnesium stearate

• Titanium dioxide

• Colouring agents (in 2mg tablets)

Side Effects

Common side effects may include:

• Headache

• Breast tenderness

• Nausea

• Vaginal bleeding or spotting

Serious (rare) side effects:

• Blood clots

• Liver issues

Warnings

Do not use Progynova if you have an intact uterus without taking a progestogen. Avoid if you have a history of breast cancer, blood clots, or liver disease. Not suitable during pregnancy. Your doctor will review your treatment regularly to ensure it remains appropriate.

Progynova Tablets are a form of oestrogen-only hormone replacement therapy (HRT) designed to relieve symptoms associated with menopause. It is intended for use by women who have undergone a hysterectomy or who do not require progestogen therapy. Common symptoms targeted by Progynova include hot flushes, mood changes, night sweats, and vaginal discomfort.

How It Works
Each tablet contains estradiol valerate, a synthetic version of the natural hormone oestrogen. When taken, it is metabolised into estradiol, helping restore normal hormone levels in postmenopausal women. This replacement alleviates vasomotor and urogenital symptoms caused by low oestrogen. In some cases, Progynova is also used to help prevent bone loss (osteoporosis) in women who are unable to take other bone-sparing therapies.
